Welcome to the Nwp Digital Collection

The National Woman's Party (NWP) holds a unique collection of records and artifacts that document the mass political movement for women's full citizenship in the 20th century, both in the United States and throughout the world.

The digitized materials are divided into four main periods: suffrage, equal rights, international, and contemporary. The collection includes: photographs, political cartoons, scrapbooks, and National Woman's Party publications, official records of the organization, textiles, paintings, sculpture, and other items that demonstrate the political strategies of an organization that lead one of the largest and most significant civil rights movements in the country. For more information on the National Woman’s Party holdings, please visit our Collection and Digital Imaging Project pages on Sewall-Belmont's website.

This site includes a simple browse tool and an advanced text search to help you find the images you are interested in. As you browse the collection, you will be asked to select a period, a media type (the type of artifact you are looking for), and a media subtype, which will help you narrow down your search to specific categories within the media type. There is also an advanced search which will allow you to search by keyword, title, author, subject, or date range. As you search, please remember that not everything in the collection has been digitized.
